Xiong Deshan, Early Marxist philosopher and sociologist

Xiong Deshan, also called Ziqi, was born in Jiangling, Jingzhou City. In 1906, he set up Fu Ren Academy to fight against Qing government with Hu Egong. The following year, he went to Japan for further study and participated in organizations such as Progressive Society and Revolutionary Alliance. He had more than 20 works, including The Way of the Chinese Revolution, Basic Knowledge of Socialism and so on
